This work is part of a series (series 5) in which the paint is applied with various trowels. I apply multiple layers over time to create different textures and surfaces, adding another dimension to the work. This particular painting can be hung in both orientations (as can be seen in the pictures).
It creates a powerful statement, and I find that with this style of abstract art, the simplicity is deceptive - there is more than meets the eye !
It has been painted using Artist Quality Acrylic paint and matt interior house paint on a Professional Quality stretched cotton canvas with a matt protective varnish applied.
The work is signed and dated on the back.
The sides have been painted, so no frame is necessary, although it would also look great in a simple floating frame.
