This work is part of a series (series 3) in which I use the "action" or "splatter" technique to create unique, textured and multi layered paintings. The initial stage was creating a background that blended from dark to light, and by building layer upon layer, patterns emerge. The challenge with this type of painting is not to have the paints merge into a messy fusion.

The painting has been treated with a matt protective varnish and is unframed - the painting continues over the edges, so no frame is necessary - though it would look great framed.

It is signed and dated on the back of the canvas.
